This dark age, proto-Viking age Valsgard 8 helm has been adapted for modern rattan combat.  It is 14 gauge stainless steel and has brass cast fittings, meticulously chased brass plates, stainless riveted maile, a liner and a chinstrap.  This is a legacy level helmet for any serious early period fighter.  There is a picture included of the period excavation helmet for comparison.  

• Helms are measured around the OUTSIDE of the helm at the eye slot.  Measure YOUR head circumference (at your brow) and then add 7".  This will give you the size of helm to order from us. For example, your head circumference = 23" + 7" = 30"  Order a 30-31" helm.  We can exchange if the size is not correct.
